Mystics
Feel different
Than the pious devout,-
They admit that there are no words
For what is simply Inexpressible,
And insist that one can not tell
Their experience is
Beyond words as
Mystics

Mystics
Can understand
The great Variety
Of religious experience
And the many faces of verity,
Of the one and only great Truth,
Of whom they cannot speak
Because they are
Mystics

Mystics
Nurture the Faith
Of the humble faithful,
But they disturb the slumber peace
Of the top religious authorities,
Mystics frustrate the exalted
And wreak ruckus turmoil
As unexplicable
Mystics

Your poem is informative. I like the diamond shape of your poetry.

I have no idea if the masses are aware what a pain in the neck the Mystics are to the church and often embarassment.. The investigations are beyond description and the consultants, drawn into them be it medical, psychological, scientific and a hundred others to probe the authenticity of visions or other supernatural manifestations is beyond description..

And yet, they are the true prophets and life blood.that nourishes the believer.

the sumerians, upon which much of judaism is based, are called mystics

the kaballa which is central to judaism as our sun to the
solar system, was and still is called mystic

because abraham, isaac and jacob spoke with angels are considered mystics

early christians were slaughtered because they were mystical

joan of arc was burned at the stake for her mysticism
(read the amazing transcripts of her trial)

in this regard, not much has changed since the dark ages,
or from the time when it was thought the world was flat
on the back of a turtle ... (on top of what?)

tho its called prophesy preaching the book of revelations
is practicing mysticism

historically, and to this very day the mystics have been
very vocal and expressable, speaking about it passionately
and fervently to their devout

your work is very good ...

however imo, it is as misleading as it is good

Beautiful and powerful write, nice style.

Yes, mystics have no spiritual meaning or reality, their views and understanding is not always visible, unless you are speaking about what you do see, open and plain for the eyes to see from the human body. (subjective)

There is a lot of vague sense of insecurity in practices such as trying to break down truths in intelligence that of our creator, to fit what feels good, in being comfortable with in life.

I get something out of this write differently I guess, but then most always, I do. The unintelligence of most " mystics " is not what it used to be anyway, we have taken most of what the bible says away and practice false ideas. Man handing the situations of defacing truths.

Perhaps this write speaks about the nature of an individuals performance of mental fellowship with God, or extreme events that took place from the beginning.

And are we paying attention to our own senses, our own brain thinking, excluding truths to reality? Of course it is very subjective, what I am speaking about, using the senses. We are human, let us not lose sight of the facts. Personal feelings detroy interpretations of truth, spoken, and written in the good book.

Yes, beware our leaders, for me, I follow my heart for that is where I find the truth. I am never misguided by Him there. Only time I do get misguided is when I listen to man without trusting in what I already know to be true from my heart.

I like this rictameter, 9 line poem Elizabeth, first stanza has only 9 lines, but it is fine by me, I love it anyway.

For all readers who do not know what a triple rictameter is, here it is. Or contact Elizabeth who is a brilliant writer of styles:

A rictameter is a nine line poem.

The lst and last lines are the same with syllable count and identical:

line 1-2 syllables
2-4 syllables
3-6 syllables
4-8 syllables
5-l0 syllables
6-8 syllables
7-6 syllables
8-4 syllables
9-2 syllables

Hugs from me,

your reader

Raquel Leah :D

This is for those that may wish to learn a precise Rictameter. The syllable coujt for it is as below:

2
4
6
8
10
8
6
4
2

syllables per line.
Makes 9 lines altogether for one stanza.

Elizabeth and i have been cordially corresponding behind the scenes

we were discussing what i meant by my final comment ...

"however imo, it is as *misleading* as it is good"

as it turns out ...
i was in error to declare Elizabeth's thought provoking Rictameter
as being "misleading"

actually, it was i who mis-interpreted her poem by thinking
she was speaking about *mystics* who are *outside* the church.

Elizabeth was indeed speaking of mystics *within* the church,
who were the focus of my comments.

Alsas, i realised we *were* both speaking about the same thing,
as there was NOTHING mis-leading about her poem, except for ... MY BRAIN.

so i do apologise to Elizabeth, and all, for my shortsightedness and
impulsiveness at not having fully taken the time to absorb her meanings.

i am grateful to Elizabeth, for her patience and the gracious manner
by which she explained to me her thoughts

She is a great Lady

Thank you ever so much dear Lady ArsenicMystic,
of course I meant the mystics within the church. Those outside of it would not be interesting and the church would not be competent to probe and judge them.
I was talking about mystics like Master Eckehard, Suso, the Rhenish Mystics and anathemized Jesuits, etc.Joan of Arc.etc.etc

It is very generous sweet lady to affix this explanatory post to clear the misunderstandings.

Very generous kind and thoughtfulof you.
Be blessed
Elizabeth
