My lifeblood chills at every cry,
Though same, your silence stills my heart --

Wow.

There are some lines here that are quite remarkable. Given your author's note at the top of this, I can easily read this with two different perspectives.... one being, thoughts prompted by that helpless, bitty kitten... and the other.... as if I hadn't read that note. For whatever reason, the latter perspective is more powerful. I think we are moved most often times by the meanings we 'discover' in a poem so to speak. It is, at least, that way for me.

Wonderfully crafted. That you got this... from little kitty mews, impresses me much. I'd so much rather read something like this than a happy little poem about a fluffy little kitten, if you know what I mean. I'll have to check out more of your work!
