[hometext] => Runners, all runners, have a connection. This poem I wrote a while ago when I still ran a lot.
[bodytext] => I run because it helps me to breathe It lets me clear my mind Sometimes though I don't know why It helps me not to feel, not to feel pain or distress It keeps me calm and all I hear Is the thud, thud, thud that I can't repress I run becaus eI have no other choice I must find some escape I run because I know I must It is my justification towards pain For though it hurts It always helps Helps my mind to clear And when I run I have no choice But to know that there is no reason To fear I run because I have to My heartbeat MUST continue For I know if I don't run My lungs might stop working... My blood might stop flowing... My fingers might stop moving... My brain might stop knowing...
