and freedom's just a stream
damnation set to be so cursed
floating along on a liar's pulpit dream.

Transgressions do pass through stained glass windows
yet sparkle with a simplicity of delight
hours long reflective journeys
trust always hidden from her sight.

Cutting one's teeth on challenged forgiveness
yet bound for a purgatory not yet near her heaven
molded by the lies of circumstance
she's cast away from the encircled coven.

The darkened woods a nightly fortress
where lofty shadows come to call
innocence lost it's last heartbeat
as her relevance shattered before the fall.

Wounded from a rage that forever blinds
seeing nothing but darkeness on her way down
it's masked in the silence of her breath
and in the fear of never being found.

To see the light is some dreamer's illusion
a tight wired precarious voyage
standing scared in the middle out of balance
refused any help as she slips from the edge.

Rain a warm mist like fate's protection
cursed to bargain at every start
the lesser of two evils is still an evil
as her demons resume their grand art.

The glass house is lonely and barren cold
watch the chains rattle as the vices take grip
her psyche such fodder for a righteous one
she opts for candyland and the technicolor trip. [comments] => 1 [counter] => 180 [topic] => 48 [informant] => jaeann [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )
