It's just a thought I'm thinking
It's funny how when I get rid of the mask
I find my true colors really singing
And in all honesty they aren't that bad
I just have a long way to go
I have to let God shine through my humanity
And let His pure Light show
A good Christian... is it possible?
Can it be true at all?
'Cause if I was so very good
Then would I ever fall?
See, being a Christian is not
Being perfect and doing good deeds
But it is realizing that I'm so messed up
Only God can fill my needs
This grace is the basis of my faith
His mercy I hold dear
So, no, I'm not a good Christian
I just know that God is near [comments] => 5 [counter] => 182 [topic] => 25 [informant] => kcampbell [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => MiscPoems )

Why not? Good not perfect... So that's alright...
Best wishes,
Alex

Well said, and very true. Your ending sheds light, indeed.

Wonderful poem. I love it. Very true, there is no such thing as a perfect Christian, only a perfect God :)
