Comments both good and bad appreciated! [bodytext] => Feelings felt when memories swept me back to you
(rushing in sensations of that sweet summer dew)
helped to dampen this already soiled dingy heart,
for they were the reminders of how I ravaged "us" apart

It wasn't long ago, but it was years before
still stinging to the touch, pungent to the core
the ache crept in like ivy, encompasing my soul
and slithered to my heart, where it found the hole

memories like fingerprints, smudged on dirty glass
cannot wipe away the tears, nor can I the past
fight them off but still they dig, burrow in each crevasse
and each sensation inside is tortured and harassed

but though these jaded images bring with them torment
I cherish every vision, each reminisced moment
the pain picking at open wounds, is not from the memory
it is soley from the unerving truth, that he really DID love me... Joycelyn ... you must at times look back. To look back is to see where you have been ... and how not to find yourself within the same realms of those places you have gone before. It is OK to look back ... just don't try to go back, the past is gone and one simply can not live there.

We all learn our own tough lessons in life and it is how we use the knowlege gained from those trials that will make us who and what we will be. I would not wish your pain on anyone and I ache for you knowing that you hurt, but you have penned your awareness beautifully.

Nazzy ~

I look back sometimes if I think there is a lesson I missed somewhere. But generally I forge ahead trying to stay one step in front of the pain of emptiness. It can gnaw like a animal on a discovered carcass if you let it.. Go forward gaining strength with each step and when you feel yourself slowing and tiring THEN look back and remember where you don't want to go again.

Blessings,
Rita

There’s nothing else to say really is there? This was a well-composed poem; and I do agree with Scott, the knowledge we gained from our past mistakes makes us into what we are today. And whether we use that knowledge is entirely up to us.

Hope all is well with both you and AJ.

deep and heartbreaking, but I must say it is
definitely good to have you back and writing
and I am sure the sadness in your heart will
diminish and love will find you again. This
poem was very good and I saw lots of regret
and pain in this write. Very honest as always
and I send you hugs for better days. Thanks
for sharing this.

Very not bad!! But you're terrible... how can you do such a thing?! Why?! You make me cry!
Really good... I love the flow of words. Espicially the fingerprints and glass and past, good connections... awesome imagery. I loved it.

You're still terrible though... how did you not know, could you not have telled? Pain and agony.
