Array ( [sid] => 105939 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Trilafon [time] => 2005-09-18 14:02:41 [hometext] => This is a true story [bodytext] => This medication is called Trilafon or Perphenazine.
When I took it, I had the worst nightmare I've ever seen.
Life is something to be cherished.
But in December of 1996 I almost perished.
After my doctor wrote the prescription, I took the Trilafon.
If I hadn't been taken to the emergency room, I'd be gone.
Trilafon helps some people but it makes other people sick.
After taking this medication, I learned that I'm allergic.
I'd like to say it was all just a dream but it was real.
The doctors in the ICU saved me with Benadryl.
I foamed at the mouth and it felt like the Trilafon was burning out my brain.
I hope nobody else experiences this pain.
My doctor ticked me offf when he wanted me to continue taking Trilafon with a side effect pill.
There was no way in hell I'd keep taking it after being so ill.
Now I take a different medication and all is well.
It's much better to take Risperadol or Seroquel.
I was only twenty-five in 1996 and that would've been far too young to go.
If a doctor wants to prescribe you Trilafon, please say no. The only times I have gotten a medication that did not work well in my system is when my doctor was out of town, and I had to be seen by one of His stand ins.. no more of that. You know what, one time I asked a doctor, how and why does this medication work in people. I never went back to that one.. his answer to me was.. we really do not know, you are a guinea pig.. I ran out of that doctors office fast lol. I have also learned, even after being given a prescription, I check it out with the pharmacist and also I find a book about the medication.. on medications lol.. and what the side effects are.. nothing goes into my body without me doing my homework... we are responsible for what we put into our systems.. medications work differently in all systems.. think about it, some can drink coffee, it makes others shake violently.. some can eat garlic, in others give them the worst heartburn ever.. we are all different in our systems.. I am so happy the Lord saw you through this ... make sure you write down all medications that have ill effects on your system, and always let the doctor and pharmacist know what happened.. caution to the wise.. hugs.. raquelleah..

I took pills a long time ago that were supposed to keep your from being nauseous when pregnant. I had such severe problems with it.. all my muscles tighted up on me, I could not breathe or move.. then later on in years, found out that particular medication caused babies to be born without limbs. I am glad I got the bad reaction, and my babies were born in good shape.. God helped me out.
