It ‘s truly most amazing the human spirit,
Nothing in this world can come near it,
It overcomes seemingly impossible tasks,
Many a time when no one asks.

We see it happen over and over again,
In children as well as women and men,
We give from our hearts and very souls,
To help the needy reach common goals.

Most recently its been seen with hurricane and flood,
People pulling together giving sweat and blood,
In the past it was most visible on 9/11
With prayers, and tears for those in heaven.

There are those who see only crime and hate,
And say for mankind it is far too late ,
But whether your perception is, good or bad,
This grateful note I wish to add.

To all the men, women and children who when they hear
“It’s impossible, can‘t be done , might as well just sit here”
Rise up and find a way to do what can’t be done,
To save not only a million but to save just one.

I thank you for all your sacrifice and prayer,
For you show the world the dream we share,
That the human spirit cannot die,
It lives on forever in each new babies cry.

Great poem, very inspirational!
It makes me feel that I am not alone and that even though I am one human being I can and do make a difference. Thanks for sharing this poem!

I have seen so much goodness and human kindness in the last two weeks than I have seen even in 9/11. The people are the strength of this country, not the government. When the goverment is twirling on it thumb the people are out there working to help each other, regardless of differences. I say God Bless the All.

I say, I feel, and I say thank you, brilliant writer, and yes, the souls are alive, sometimes it takes tragedy, especially when it is within the arms of the loved, and that is what God sees, oh yes, He comes to us, when we most need Him, when we ask, in times of need, I must not say sorry, for I am not the creator, I am merely His child living out what He said was going to happen, do I sit and watch, no, I do what He tells me to do in the scriptures, I can't do more, than what was handed down to me in words, I was taught, and so I do, I teach, I am, His child, and I can never criticize another for what I see wrong, for I have that board in my eye at times, I am honest, I need several good individuals to help me pull out that board, and if they do, I promise, I will pull out their board as well, as what I am taught to do, help thy neighbor, let us all stand up, hold hands, cheer, and say, thank you Dear Lord, forever and ever holding a place for us now, and before us, in the past, the pasts, pasts, eternally, backward, forward, you see, there is no beginning, and no end, because God is everything, anything, and infinite, ( meaning, endless as in space), man made rings, yet God gave them the idea, and now I pray, this poem is my blessing for this special day that I own, and I pray well, for I do not know the time when I will be called to come home....thank you baby!
