Aw, our first kiss, your lips hardly touched mine,
then we giggled at how sneaky we were.
Photographs in my mind from Yesteryear.
Was that you?

In unexpected snow we made angels,
two grown ups, as children went by laughing.
You got so muddy on that three-wheeler,
as we flew down the hill onto the road.
Was that you?

We woke up in each other arms; coffee's on.
You made fun of me when I did not know
what a bulls eye was till you made them, and
English muffins smeared with Strawberry jam.
Was that you?

The pain I felt, Oh, the deafening pain,
I tried to hide it from you when you left.
I could not let you see that I was soft.
I had to be steel-hard, you never knew.
Was that you?

The years hammered by, and I wandered on,
looking for something, maybe Snow Angels..
Are you still around? Do you think of me?
My mind is cloudy now. What did you say?

I like this piece because when I read it I am there. Making snowangels, eating English muffins with strawberry jam, good work here.
