Has scarred a deep effect in me.
Ethereal Mountains: Paradise lost
By family tempest I was toss’t.
Home never landed anywhere,
Mother here and father, there.
I’ve been a visitor for fifteen years,
Their asphalt pillows slick with tears.

Friends, understand I cannot stay.
Won’t keep this wanderlust at bay.
‘Cause of this need for new progress,
I suffer now from fitful rest.
I will realize my attractant
For places non-existent.
Guided by my gilded mem’ries,
Seek but never see my child trees. [comments] => 5 [counter] => 703 [topic] => 52 [informant] => evshrug [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => goodbyepoetry )

This is VERY Good for one so young...

I Hope you continue writing poetry...

I too started when I was around 15 but no one ever read it as I did not share it (there was no internet so long ago) and it was NOT something you shared with a buddy LOL....

I didn't get back into it until I was nearly 30 and now wish I had saved all of them... (Hindsight is always 20/20 isn't it)

So let me suggest you not only save it but put it in a bound notebook AND on the internet everywhere... and don't stop writing and revising... You are destined for greatness...

I must say, Ev, the rhyme scheme in this is amazing. I enjoyed every line. And the asphalt pillow line, was the best one in my mind. Great write, Ev. Hopefully I won't be too busy and I'll get some time to write on this site.

-Steve
