so sad...we tend to lose our way many times in life that leads us in so many different ways, but the things that your friend is learning from what he's experiencing will help in out when he gets back on track......everything happens for a reason...i know when i got off track then "got back" i benefited from the things that i learned and experienced...most do if they take it in and think about it...learn from mistakes too....

Excellant poem. Good feeling. Good diction. And it also has something people of any age can relate to and that is what makes a poem great!
