Is the universal language for my brothers
A friendship rare but sought after by the whole wide world
which selfishness and prejudice do hinder

We learn to see our differences at such an early age
and it takes many years to finally see what is the same
but many cling to what they learned and can not come to change
until life''s circumstances are abruptly rearranged

But even when what''s different on the outside comes to nought
we still miss out on friendship cause the hurt's within our hearts
We try so hard to not let what has hurt us repeat again
that we miss the chance for universal love happening

The walls and boundaries which are set throughout the world
seem to form a lasting peace but prevent brotherhood
We set our boundaries and some are not included
We rope them off and destine them to always be excluded

Notes- This poem was part of another that had the same name. I think the message in this poem is much more important.

I hear the cry of the alien
can I call him my brother
another place he exists in
that i may never enter
I wonder does his mind attempt
the same ponderings i do
some say he is my enemy
I don't believe it's true

Beyond the boundaries of who I am and where I''m born

Wow, a very very real poem I liked it, sometimes I think things out when I think the thoughts to myself and I always say to myself that just because I think about things, and draw answers that somebody else could also be doing the same thing at the exact same time. SLipSiX.

Archie so much truth behind the lines of ur poem. You're a gifted writer who writes exactly what he sees to detail. You have the amazing ability to be able to express urself so well. Antoher brillant piece of poetry to add on to ur other remarkable work. Well done.

Sad but True..
gathering all.. has had it's dis-advantages..
thus far-
(though America's a great country, we can't seem to get along all that well)
I hope someday we do..if only by your message Archie-
It's bitter-sweet when we come together..as we have in the south..
or on Sept. 11..
We should be as kind all the rest of our days I think.

Taught it yes, but live by it no..............we should all know its just what one teaches..........Do not always do what taught because it is not always , right.!

A beautiful write that deals masterfully with a lot of wisdom on a very important matter such as friendship. To incorporate boundaries and prejudices makes this a powerful read.
