as time slowly moves onward
living with self in harmony and accord,
clearly, eternally, always this i see

there shall be; no love for me,
no fool sitting by a phone
i'm ever destined to be alone,

i'm scraping at the bottom of the memory box
there is no answer; no matter how many times i knock,
heart, spirit, soul, and mind

i'm ever left with the rind,
anyway, it no longer matters
i'll no longer try; love always shatters,

this dream of love never comes true
for me,

so now i will bid love adieu!

i've never had a love come true

Awwww this is so sad hun, I know if anybody deserves the 'dream of love' its you more than anybody. Its wonderful to actually see a write from you again, I've missed you loads lately and your poetry is just as beautiful as you are. The music and the birdy are both very fitting, but the poem itself is gorgeous in its own way. I hope you feel better soon, I love you lots and then some more. *smiles and hugs*

Nice way to bid adieu to love, it feels like telling a child who's not going to do what you ask, "I am not going to tell you to do it anymore", love ain't just listening, even to that.

oh Nessa so very sad I feel your heart through your words. Its so nice to see you posting again. I will be calling you soon.

Ness I found that when I least expected it thats when it came WHAM and hit me right in the heart and head and soul and its all good. I never thought Id find a love either. My situation a bit different than yours but still it may come out of the blue

A sad commentary on the status of this persons' love life...if it's you, i'm sorry for how things have worked out. Often we mourn the loss of our dream or fantasy about love, which upon scruntiny was a whole lot better then the reality of what we actually lost

May you be blessed with a genuine loving relationship, which may come when you least expect it.

Oh Nessa!

What a beautiful and so sad poem.
I remember my father writing into my Album as dedication the Leitmotive:

"Trust in God and expect nothing from men"

It sounds a bit harsh, but there is wisdom to it.
Man is a wheather van - often can not help it. The best friendships fall apart, betrayals take place . Hurt is everywhere.
To keep loving with a love that is grounded in God - transcends the natural emotions alone will help to overcome.

Excellent writing,
such a common and cliched ridden subject of poetry
approached with uncommonly good taste
and endearing personality.

I do think
"there shall be; no love for me,"
should be hyphenated instead of semi-coloned:
"there shall be--no love for me,"

You can refer to Poe, he used that alot.

Very sad, yet very romantic in a way. The poem itself is beautifully written. First we must love our self, not in an egotistical way, but with unconditional acceptance. Then love will be more likely. You obviously are very popular.

Man can I relate to this right now love always
leads to hurt for me. This was a heart
breaking write my dear and I hope it isn't true
