Lifepoems

Empty notepad, it's blinking cursor
inviting me to write something.
Late at night, there is still so much life.
Engine noise of the trucks from a far,
Whirring of the cooling fans in my computer.
Chatter of people on the screen,
they talk, without making a sound,
shouting, grabbing attention,
wanting to tell, wanting to share,
wanting to know, wanting to belong
The hum of the engines and the whirr of the fans
Text scrolling in all the colours
They are all each other's friends
With all their wierd names
None that look the same
In the dark of night, outside
dogs are barking, I wonder at what?
Barking for attention perhaps
Do they have Christmas too?
May be, may be not, who knows?

Today's life. All electronic. Seems very sad to me. I never thought my very best friends would be those I have never and will never meet. Yes, odd nics shouting for attention give me a headache and makes my heart hurt. This is a great write, albeit sad for our lifestyle today. All alone and looking for a virtual partner. I I think you nailed it well.

Maybe it is about us. The computer has bridged the gap between many people that i never would be able to speak to.
As far as us - I only ask for the same measure of faith that i give and if that is too much then maybe I too bark for attention. |

Very interesting poem. For the technologically enabled among the world's peoples, it sure is a shrinking world.

So true...............yes its magic, and its not. Some find pleasure, and some find hope.............Some have found more..........so attention, yes, we all want it. Be it where ever we choose to find it...........but yes, the pc has done wonders.........good and bad. Good, analogical, write.

Very interesting indeed. Is it about us or is it not? Whatever the case, cool poem. Nice writing. Keep it up! :) |
