Sand of death awaits me, burning at my feet
Haze of sweet illusions, tempt my tortured mind
Visions of such pleasures, left so far behind

Scorpion goes scuttling by, sting within his tail
Circles whilst I stagger, listens as I wail
Watching, ever waiting, for my sad demise
He the final winner, me the only prize

Left alone without a hope, no one to hear my call
Nothing now can save me, I tumble then I crawl
Fog of sleep before me, playing on my mind
Dreaming of my loved ones, left so far behind

Feel a drop of moisture, rapture on my skin
Sense of new survival, surges from within
Drag myself awake, find my senses still remain
Recieved by such a wondrous thing, a single spot of rain

I move so slowly forward, was that a sign to me
A group of tents, some camels, before my eyes I see
My prayers have all been answered, I am saved at last
I felt that single droplet ,and now the cloud has passed

A good writing has a power to transport you some place else and makes you feel all the emotions, even those not said, this one is almost there. Brilliant begining, the last section is'nt quite tidy.
