rejecting sleep,despite the ugly truth.

alone again, left out of life
never win, but always a friend.

might ask him why he did not call
yet buy his lies, smile and knod

one more hour, feels like two
tv tuned to channel five

there's the phone, heart skips a beat
caller ID reveals defeat.

destined to be alone and let down
pushed aside forevermore.

inconvenience and unimportant
never win, but always a friend

two more hours, feels like four
TV's off, bed is calling.

shut one eye, never two
awaiting the moment life throws a turn

twisting the mind, giving butterflies wings
back out of bed, pacing the floor

Kill the butterflies, rip off their wings!
secret thoughts of pain and death..

gouge the eyes, pull out the hair!
never win,.....but always a friend

Ask him why he never called

Buy his lies......Smile and Knod.....

This particular poem captured an element that alot of poems don't contain, and that's the rythm of the story. The lines flowed seamless and the hook added a nice touch, Good stuff.
