And suddenly I realise,it's calling out to me
A call that is so beautiful,it pulls me ever near
I move on slowly forward, so my vision is more clear

I see a path, a clearing, a fire burns slow and strong
Around it stand sweet chestnut tree's, stood there for ages long
And circling the fire, I see, with wonder and with awe
A pack of wolves a dancing, there coats so white, so pure

Their moves are so majestic, a vision of such grace
I watch them with excitement, such joy upon my face
They beckon me to join them, as slowly I advance
And feel such deep elation, as I join them in the dance

The air is fired with passion and such primeval power
We dance and dance together, until the midnight hour
My body calm and filled with peace, I lay me down to sleep
And as I gently slumber, the wolves they slowly creep

Away to their true homeland, to roam and hunt and play
I hope that I will find them and dance again one day
Until then I will, listen each day at evenings fall

Wolves are very beautiful animals. Dangerous, yet so gentle. Nice post.

Wolves have been my favorite animal since I was a boy, I had a face to face with one once and I have been hooked ever since. They are very majestic animals and you did an excellent job describing them with this poem. Probably my favorite I have ever read on here.

Free , pure, strong and fearless.
Never denying its true nature , never second guessing its actions. Never bound by imaginary borders. Never caught in human delusions. How sweet to tear away our own fears and fences and live pure and free away from our fancy make believe world. Now you've done it.... you've went and inspired me.
Be fearless because fortune favors the bold.
love , doug
