through dusk on either hand,
one sheet of silver spreads the bay
and jettisoned on the land..

The blackest ships on mirrored streams,
their ghostly tresses shake-
When will the dead world cease to dream..
When will the morning break?

Beneath a night no longer May
where only cold stars shine,
over glimmering ocean that spreads away
this haunted life of mine;

and shattered on the frozen shore
my harp can never wake-
When will this night of death be over..
When will the morning break?

"When will this night of death be over..
When will the morning break?"

Those two lines brought back clear memories of a night 14 years ago when the Prime Minister and all of parliament were held captive in an attempted coup by a group of terrorists... the entire nation was held at bay..and all night long...the radio station played "The Morning After"

Good write, Billy.

Billy, the poem is brilliant,as per your norm. The content is saddening to me. I have lived a life very different and I wish I could give to you some of the sunshine and happiness that fills my world. The knowledge of emotionally nourishing love that ever pushes me forward. I wish I could share it with the world. I guess you never get over being alone and not being part of a family. I wish love and peace and security for you. I wish I could wave a magic wand and make everything alright in your world. Maybe if I just continue to be a friend, that will help a tiny little bit. That is what friends do, you know. Hugs, Rita

This was a wonderful peom. When I read it, I could really feel it. It touched me in a way that brings back memories of times that weren't so good in my life. While reading it I could picture everything in my head. Very moving!

I read this and read this, and see, that one needs to be in the open path of happiness, and love. Come on, the door, has been opened..............there is a dim light seeping through. Member, the holes that allow the rays of sunlight to seep....they can be meanded......and will be .! Well, the door to all is there, dont SHUT it.! What a deep write, and again one to read over and over.

Brew~

Very poetic work. You stray from the more cognitive to the more symbolic, which is a good thing to do betimes. You do it well.

Just a picky detail; you revert from present to past tense with the word "jettisoned" in line four. If, that is, I understand it correctly as being a verb here.

Sad, touching and ever so disconsolate....
You, dear, sweet billy, are an extremely skilled and amazing writer.
Your words, even spoken in grief, stills this beating heart.
Moved, am I, at how you express yourself without reserve.
It is so very audacious.

A most emotive poem and one that leaves me with this thought ...
Is it morning?

Eternally and as always~

much affection
~Breezy
