Numb and cold-
No different from the other months
I survive on scrap pieces of memories that you tried to tare apart
And in this darkness I try desperately to fix the old pieces back together
Savouring each memory, as if it was the last drop of water in an entire desert

I haven't forgotten the way that you look,
Even after all the time that’s past,
With blindfolded eyes I could create your image,
And leave perfection
I remember your face in the finest detail, every line
And each dimple that my fingers used to trace.

Your voice rings distantly in my ears,
The last words you ever said to me after you had left me
Tough and brittle
Yet they cling on tight in my mind,
Desperate to remain there.

Your touch which should have been washed,
Clean of my skin
Still remains firm no matter how many times
It’s been scrubbed away,
I can feel it brush against me,
Soft as the wind, sweeping gently down my neck

Your kiss, that was so insincere
Still holds so much importance
The smoothness of your lips pressing
Slightly onto mine and hovering there
As your giant hand sweeps over my face
Casting a shadow as you brush my hair away

Your spirit more precious and loved than anything
That’s ever entered my world
Flew away into her colours of your brighter day.
Leaving me with darkness and just your lone
Distant star to brighten my night.
When the rain reaches the window in your new
Chosen world, and when your current angel has spread her wings n flown
Maybe come talk to me and we’ll see how we get along?

Lauren this is absolutely filled with emotional sadness and the longing for your ex is evident. I like your style of writing. You able able to express yourself openly and clearly. All things happen for a reason dearest Lauren. May your heart heal soon.
