Reaching out slowly
I lay my hand on her
And I feel her tremble
'Neath my gentle touch

She is a vision of
Beauty, like none other
And at this moment
I want her so much

But

She is sleeping
I don't want to wake her
She is dreaming
I don't want to take her
From where she is now
And whatever place
Has left her with that
Smile gracing her face

Morning is breaking
I soon must be leaving
Now one whispered kiss
And then I'll make my way

Into the world where the
Wicked are waiting
To keep me from her
For another long day

And

She is sleeping
I don't want to wake her
She is dreaming
I don't want to take her
From where she is now
And whatever place
Has left her with that
Smile gracing her face

I pray for the days when I won't have to leave her
Lying in wait for me to return home
I wish she could know how I ache when I see her
Lying asleep in our bed all alone

Still

She is sleeping
I don't want to wake her
She is dreaming
I don't want to take her
From where she is now
And whatever place
Has left her with that
Smile gracing her face

Oh, where she is now
And whatever place
Has left her with that
Smile gracing

Her face

Not concieted at all, Scott. You should take pride in something as beautiful as this.

I love this. It's so...soft. Like, it's a very calm song. You can almost hear the feelings.

Once again, beautiful, and loving.

Great write,
Phil xxx

This is a beautiful work; and I don't respond to your comments as conceit. I think it is a good thing when we can think positively about our writting. While we want to be humble, false humility is not appealing any more then bragging.

So well done; and well said, my friend

Will/Terry

No conceit here, just beautifully penned perfection. Scott, this is so simplistic but radiates warmth, love and desire. It flowed so smoothly. The structure was great and the imagery had a gauzy-like sleep feel to it which in my eyes enhanced it.

Smiles,
Rita

*Sighs*

This was just beautiful Scott, you've always shown your sweet and caring side. Which unfortunately lacks in some men i know this days.

And no i didn't think this was a conceited write. Not at all.

Good poem as always Scotty.

See? What'd I tell ya, the introduction is perfect for this, cheri! ^.^ Not a hint of conceitedness in there, my friend.

This was... "simply" divine, for lack of a better word. You have this ability where you can manipulate these vivid paintings into a few phrases, and then you turn around and throw us a complex beauty with expressions of the most beguiling and intriguing proportions. I could see your gentle hand hovering over her face as she slumbered tranquilly, dreaming dreams of bliss and love with that enchanting smile upon her face... Delicate, and radiant in its simplicity, cheri Scott. You have outdone yourself, yet again!

My deepest apologies, mon ami, for my negligence as well... It has been too long without your words of exquisite magnificence. Thank you so much for sharing with us, as always, a wondrous pleasure to read your work again. I will begin my lengthy journey through your page ASAP, doux chasseur. :-). Adored this piece! All my love. Forever,

Votre petite fleur de bonheur et amour,

~*Stephy*~ P.S.-Merci beaucoup for your lovely comment on my latest! *squeezies*

So beautifully written.

What a patient person you are. And how wise too. If this write was you the character, than I say to you.. you do not lack love. You are kind, having a heart for someone you care so much for. Allowing that person to have their own space.. I can just see you touching her, not wanting to disturb a smiling dream.

*****She is dreaming
I don't want to take her
From where she is now

Just gentle patience.. love.. and I know she is dreaming of you.

Not conceit, just a knowledge of pure true love.

We poets all share your love for your write.

Oh Nazzy, I think I love this one the most! This is the second
time I've been back to read it, but my mediocre comments
could just never do this justice. I am simply at a
loss for words....

How about stunning? gorgeous? sweet, gentle, romantic?
Simply beautiful? Yes, quite so. MAGNIFICENTLY so!
