Dreams of raindrops falling
There’s a tear in my heart for you
Dreams of raindrops falling
For I dreamed your love was true.

You said the other guy meant nothing
But mistrust fills my heart with dread
Oh, you never really convinced me, and
I saw only darkest shadows ahead.

Dreams of raindrops falling
There’s a tear in my heart for you

For I dreamed your love was true.

All my life I’ve been short-changed, and
Had it all blow up in my face instead,
When last night I entered the wrong door
To where you lay in his arms in his bed.

Dreams of raindrops falling
There’s a tear in my heart for you
Dreams of raindrops falling
For I dreamed your love was true.

You said the other guy meant nothing

I don't quite remember when morals left our society and where they went too. This is an all too often happening. I am sorry for your pain.

I do have to say this would make perfect lyrics for a song.
