I pause, then start to smile
A true friend is someone
Who walks with you that extra mile

They're there for you
When everything seems to fall apart
They help you pick up the pieces
To mend your fragile broken heart

Their kind and true nature
Brightens up your day
When you're down and feeling blue
They know exactly what to say

True friends stay with you
When the rest turn and walk away
Comfort you and hold your hand
When you feel lost and in dismay

They share with you your happiness
They share with you your sorrow
They help ease your burdens
That stay well beyond tomorrow

They're precious genuine gems
So priceless and so rare
As for those pretend to be friends
They're found scattered everywhere

So if you are lucky enough
To be blessed with such a friend
Thank your lucky stars and pray
That this special friendship never ends... Awww Sue! This was a pleasant surprise! I just came back on here, and saw my name staring at me on the homepage...lol Wasn't expecting that! This is a wonderful friendship poem, and real friends are hard to find...Someone as kind as you deserves plenty of friends, and I'm honoured you've included me. You're a dear soul, and this is a lovely write: )

Scorp.
(Who's not-so-great day was just brightened)

I am here for you and you are here for me. That is what friends do for each other. We are lucky to have this group of friends. I wish you the greatest blessing in life, my friend, my sister.

Proverbs 17:17 A true friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need.

"A Friend Loveth At All Times"

Raquel Leah (Poetess)
8- 30-05

If I fall, will you be there to pick me up
I know if you fall I will come running
My heart is generous enough in spirit
And I rejoice each day that comes along

I reach for your strength of your heart
As I pray you will mine
I know what a true friend is, no distances between
No tainted hearts that love their deepest

A true friend never turns their back
There eyes are always open
They accept everything about you
It is unconditional love at its greatest

A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity
As the old adage goes in good times our friends know us
And in bad times we know our friends

Here are my committed friends
My gifts that are truly blessed
We all will stand beside each other at all times
Our strong faith is at rest

I will nurture my friends and they will nurture me
For without my friends I would not be able
To do what I do each day
And I could not reach my God-given destiny alone

Peace Be With You All

I love you.. RL

You have a great poem here and I think the people for who it is intended will be very grateful that you hold them in such high regard. I hold some of the names on your list in that same regard and hope to know the others soon. Great write fellow writer

A true friend shares your tears. May your tears always have a shoulder to grace.
True friendship is indeed hard to find. You penned a great piece.
Take care.

Most of this poem is both true and to me, agreeable; though I feel the need to point out that sometimes, staying back and letting people heal on their own is the best course of action. Getting too involved sometimes hurts more than it heals. Yeah, but whatever.

Great poem!

If I live my life and have made one true friend I am a success because friendship is a form of love.
You my friend are loved.
