hunting my prey the only way to be

running in the night following the sent
chasing what god has kindly left
i stop and i howl to bring out the fear
knowing that rabbit will soon be here

How odd you should post this tonight. I was just outside a few minutes ago getting the animals up for the night and the wolves are howling on the other side of the creek. I hate that sound. The ranchers around here kill them when they can and string them up by the hind legs over a fence post by the road so others know they are prowling around. It is just the food chain of life and unless they came towards the house I would not shoot one. This is a great poem, I love it.

Do be careful, huh?
Rita

strange I agree with Rita though Iv moved to city now I was thinking of the coyotees and the wolfs. they are beautiful but I could not shoot one therefore I feel I might end up dinner if that ever happend I admire them from a safe distance
