Sound Of Silence

Contributed by gwenevere on Sunday, 28th August 2005 @ 04:44:12 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

I lisen and I listen and only I can hear
The sound of silence singing, so softly in my ear
The simple hush of magic, a wafting in the breeze
The gentle sound of nothing as it moves within the trees

A chorus then of buzzing bee's accompany that sound
And skylarks add a descant, so high above the ground
The toads they add a deep bass line whilst singing in the reeds
I wander down this remote path and wonder where it leads

I carry on with such delight and curiosity
A picture of pure beauty, I see in front of me
I kneel aside a clear, cool stream and rest there on the brink
And in the warm, bright sunshine, a fawn appers to drink

A swan in all it's majesty goes swimming on it's way
And over on the river bank two rabbits skip and play
I watch as tiny butterflies float downwards from the sky
I close my eyes and drift along as minutes tick on by

I've heard the sound of silence, a sound of gentle peace
I've felt the glow of happiness that brings such sweet release
My senses feel the pleasure of being safe and free
I know my spirit's found the land of Pure Tranquility
