before me hangs,
Like the pupil of
a white stone wall eye.
Behind the curtain of dark,
What is within?

Through the window I see
Youthful passion upon their faces,
in their eyes,
upon their lips.
Every movement,
every look,
every action
shouts the depth of their feeling.

Through the window I see
quarrels,
debates,
violence.
A family drowning the
The Secrets
never shown beyond
The Wall
which hides them so well.

Through the window I see
a chair,
a table,
long since used.
Forgotten.
Dust and cobwebs
now call this home.

Through the window I see
Age and Wisdom,
white hair and fragile bodies,
yet full of life
and Laughter.

Through the window I have seen
Love,
Anger,
Loneliness,
Joy.
Through the window I can find
Past,
Present,
Future.
It is only a picture on the wall,
Yet through the window I can see
Anything. [comments] => 6 [counter] => 159 [topic] => 43 [informant] => Winterland [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

This is good. It is almost as if you are looking in some one's window.

Very good word choice; the poem evokes the feelings you describe. This poem is timeless.

Although I didn't originate this statement, I repeat it often to folks. "Poetry is the window to the soul." Somethin' like that. Through your "window" I see a beautiful soul and a more than excellent writer! I'm in awe. I don't think you're gonna need it 'cause your work stands alone, but good luck in those summer contests!
