many of us have come to this site to share
the pain many others have locked away,
we share with the world who we really are
in words that our tears created.
the names we give ourselves
are sometimes created in sadness
or anger and sometimes even happiness,
they reflect the emotions we had the moment we joined.

The poems i read every day remind me
of darker times when i would do what many are doing now,
but then i read other poems and they remind me of friends
and of those happy times i had.
The poems bring to life monsters i tucked away
and sometimes i wished i hadn't read such a sad poem
but then i comment hoping to make the writer happy
even if its just for a second,
while i sit in tears remembering scars i wanted to lose.

We all joined this site to share our memories
to share the pain and even our darkest secret,
we made friends here when we werent expecting too,
we created a community some can never understand.
and with every new face that joins we accept them
no matter what they write,
even if they do bring back monsters
we locked away.

Truth comes from the lines of this poem, monsters and emotions that we write are released yet again when reading someone elses poetry, that meaning is true of all of us. And this poem reflects that. A good poem doesn't always rhyme perfectly or at all, poetry is about a meaning, a story, or an emotion. And you definatly portrayed that in this poem

I think you captured the broad range of reasons why people come here really well.
Made me smile the line
"The names we give ourselves".
Mine was chosen for me by a friend.Certainly for some of us here sharing experiences has made new friendships or cementing existing ones.
