That bring on a lot of pain
Chains around my ankles and neck
Like they’re keeping me in check
Yet all they do is hurt me
And hold me back, so I can’t be free
The chains hold me tight to the wall
Yet they still allow it for me to fall
The chains bring me anger and confusion
And yet many think they’re an illusion,
Like I just see myself attached to chains,
That I made them up to blame for the pain
I look at my wrists that bleed from the cuts,
I look down and see that my feet left ruts
My chains hold me back from enjoying life
They cut into my skin like a large, sharp knife
Love is all that’s needed to break the chains
But no one brings love; they all bring pain
Which causes the chains to tighten more
Leaving my body and soul even more sore
As around my wrists, ankles and neck the chains
All tighten even more just to bring me pain

*Nodding in much agreement with the last 6 lines*

I'm glad you know what will free you from those chains, but did you know love starts from within? This is an emotive write, and you did a good job: )

Nice metaphors and nice representation of emotions, yet again. I also liked they way you described that which is holding you back. You must break away from these chains to be free. But how can anyone be free in a world with limitations set by law?
Peace,
Agent Bones
