the eternal sea-
the only sea
that waves us onto oblivion.

Let me rant and roar as the very waves..
as always down, all the bruised days of my reckoning.
Let me shout and scream and laugh and curse
and pray in the hollow shell of my penitence.

Christ, you all-seeing son on an inconceivable bossom,
don't let me die between the sheets
or even between the thighs of some foolish ready woman.

Let me die with the wind in my face...
the mad New England weather changing over my mind..
the bitter-sweet aftertaste of oak barrel beer
anointing my senses.

Lord of wine and water..
fire and snow-
purifier and destroyer of all my days,
grant me this:
that when I die,
it will be under a New England Sky.

Ah, this is a true piece of you, I feel. If you have to go, go happy. i want to die on the back of a horse, alone so nobody will find me, and the buzzards can pick my bones. No big fanfare, He will already know I am on my way and that is all that matters. Give me my roses while I am alive. My sons think I am nuts, of course. Maybe I am, but that thought makes me happy. You are a child of the water. I am a child of the earth. Let us die happy. lol Rita

Well,................again,such a deep , and well expressed write. Seems, you know where you will be when the day comes. I want to be in the ocean. Such a calmness, and serene feelings, to know I will be sprinkled through-out the roaring waves.! Again, such expressed write. But, wouldnt expect, anything less from, you.!

That last line ... really got to me. I agree with Larry 100%!

I have often told you how your poetry moves one's very
soul, steals breath of the passionate and breathes
life into the hopelessly stoic. This does that. It touches
and moves the heart like nothing else could. It washes
the senses with a passion in a way that only a true
POEt can.

Extraordinary ... completely ...

Much love,

~Breezy
