A wheat ear needs the sunshine to mature to golden grain
A child needs a mothers love, to learn and become wise
Our love needs a passion I do not see in your eyes

A lake needs sweet water for animals to drink
A school needs it's teachers to help it's children think
A baker needs fresh flour to bake our daily bread
Our love needs desire which we both now know is dead

We've drifted through together like drifting winter snow
But you must now please realise it's time to let me go
I've loved you and I've lost you so it's time for us to part
But memories will live of you inside my saddened heart

I hope you will be happy, you so deserve to be
You need to travel on a road that leads away from me
And as you walk you'll find someone who'll take you by the hand
Who needs you just as much as the ocean needs the sand [comments] => 4 [counter] => 146 [topic] => 2 [informant] => gwenevere [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 14 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )

Great write, I have to say this is certainly a unique way of saying goodbye, but sadly I don't think that there is ever a easy way to let someone go.

Great poem! I was moved by your words.
I agree that there could be no easier way to
say goodbye. This poem of yours, however,
somehow eases the pain to a great extent.

Keep writing!
