Trying my best not to look like a fool
Water splashing and volleyballs in the air
Asking you to join me I nervously declared
To my surprise she said yes in a loving tone
We had a marvelous time as I told her I would call her later on the phone
Waiting impatiently too call her I grew extremely scared
Blood rushing, I dialed her digits, I wasn’t prepared
She answered on the fourth ring
My heart felt an ultimate sting
We made plans for the night
This vacation so far was turning out to be a great delight
I slowly walked to the arcade where we were to meet
Outside rain was poring down, Mother Nature I needed to defeat
I gently opened the arcade door
Oddly I wasn’t feeling scared anymore
We sat down and relaxed by a white table
I couldn’t believe my luck almost like an unbelievable fable
We talked for hours
It seemed as tough it was raining flowers
It turned 12 AM rather fast
Today was a definite blast
I said goodnight as I gave her a warm hug
This natural high of love was better than any other drug
I walked back to my room, how could she make me feel this way?
She makes me feel as if all my troubles have gone away
That cold night I could not sleep for my mind was racing with emotions
My heart felt strong like surfing on the waves of the ocean
The next morning I wondered if I would see her again
But if I did not I wasn’t going to complain
The day slowly dragged on
And on I was growing impatient as I released a yawn
I suck up enough courage to give her a call
She did not answer; I had taken my first fall
I waited another hour before trying again
I was becoming insane
One finger at a time I pressed the numbers on the phone
I had gotten into the perfect mental zone
To my surprise she was there
As if answered was my prayer
We would meet on the boardwalk
I left the room to meet her quicker than a hawk
She was sitting in the arcade
Feeling just a bit afraid
I wanted to win her a prize
And give it to her as a surprise
I saw the perfect game
If I lost I would have felt bitter shame
It was me versus the claw
I lowered the claw; it looked like a winner I was in awe
Sadly, the prizes fell
I wasn’t feeling very swell
But as she grabbed me close
God only knows
I felt like a king
And she was my ring
We made our way back to the hotel
Getting ready to say tonight’s farewell
It suddenly started to rain
Silent we remained
We lost control and jumped into the pool
I realized I had found my precious jewel
We left the pool to sit in the hot tub
She gave me a gentle back rub
I asked her what the craziest thing she had done
She said this moment was; she described it being her greatest “fun”
Finally we said goodnight, so bad did I want to go in for a kiss
If I got rejected my heart would have fallen into an abyss
I decided tonight was not the right point, I was being too naive
So, I would ask for it tomorrow before I would leave
But only if I knew how this king would fall
I would have exchanged it for a major brawl
How could I have known that I wouldn’t get a chance to say goodbye?
