You realise your life’s not complete,
You think of times you once though dead,
But now they live on inside your head.

You bend down and touch the leaves,
You feel inside as your soul grieves,
Emotions take over your world,
You just watch as the tears unfurl.

The leaves a colour of red and brown,
Your once bright smile turns to a frown,
As your mind casts back to memories lost,
Over your soul is cast a frost.

You stand still, so very still,
Waiting for heartache to collects its bill,
Moments go by that seem like hours,
Deep in your heart sadness flowers.

A single tear trickles down your face,
You’ve lost something you can’t replace,
The pain subsides but never dies,
And your heart is forever filled with whys?

pixie, this is great! I live in Florida where it's almost summer year round and our leaves don't fall much, but I can imagine.
This poem builds in intensity and the last 2 stanzas just blew me away. Keep it up!

peace, john

Aww, Krissie...

I was so happy when I saw you had posted...and then I saw how sad the poem was.

I do love this, Krissie, but I wish you weren't feeling so down.

Good write,
Take care of yourself, hun.

Fantastic expression in this piece Pix...each stanza outshined the last, and your emotions are well conveyed. I love this line;

"Deep in your heart sadness flowers"

Well done with this write...

Scorp.
