the heavens lay open and light from the midnight sun
my journey will have begun

im escaping my city and my window view
to see the world as one should do
visiting the people watching the scene
trying to find the canadian dream
seeing the homeless the sick and the poor
writing a novel about how the government closes the door

sick of society walking away
no one caring that children are dying today
only themselves do they only hear
not the peoples true fear

health care, starvation ,this we should help
or that the world is losing all doubt
in our leaders and our kings to them its all greed
never caring what society needs

so off on the road i leave wednesday
showing the world what games we play
alone on my quest to wake up this place
showing the world its true face

Great depiction of the world we live in. Sad, but very much our reality. Thank you for writing such an eye opening piece. We can only hope that a large number of people end up reading it.

Keep up the great writes and take care!

Liz

Your words are full of truth and meaning and that is why I love this write.

The rhyme scheme is also good and it makes this poem flow nicely!

Excellent Write!
