Pushed aside - Nothing to feel but this pain
Taking the blame - With this blade in my back
Watching the blue sky turn black
Nothing to look for - Just the back door

Nowhere to turn to - No one to turn to
Injured and looking for shelter in this rain
Guessing I'm the only one I can blame

The lights dim down as the saxaphone gets into the solo
Seems everyone but us knows how the story will go
Nothing but time could ever slow us down

Sceptic about this new plan - Hand in hand
We both know only pain can come out of pain
From angry smiles to tears of shame
We're losing ourselves to heartache

No one can slow us down
Even when we're together six feet underground

The lights dim down as the saxaphone gets into the solo
Seems everyone but us knows how the story will go
Nothing but time could ever slow us down

As the dance comes to a close
Before we slip off into a doze
Pay the band to play one more slow song
Make romantic, slow, and long
So we can cherish these moments together
Even if they don't last forever

The lights dim down as the saxaphone gets into the solo
Seems everyone but us knows how the story will go
