WAY BACK WHEN

Way back when and 60 years disappeared,
kids built tree houses and cheered.
My dog Tag always by my side.......
chewing a bone, or hiking behind a bike ride.

Summer days filled with day dreams,
peaceful meditation coated with sunbeams.
A day was slow, and many times a bore,
little strife, nor uproar.

No TV to watch, pets were a precious lot.
loved them dearly, kindly treated,
harm untaught.
Curled together for a nap, underneath a big fur,
listening to your cuddly cat's gentle purrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Fresh water pumped from the cool moist earth......
who could think of water being bought?

Comfortable spot under the ole chuck wagon
deeply snoozing quietude --milking done
Big brothers, little brothers, boyhood,
friends for life, secrets kept good.
Much time, was no rush to grow up fast,
experienced thinkers, our know how amassed.

Peaceful pets calm because we were too.
from a river bank waddling duck's close view.
Meandering moments, lazy days drawn out.....
outdoor exercise, never sat down, day's end wornout!

Exhausted young bodies after a hillside hike,
fishing, playing games, pedal up hill on a bike.
Radio fine, TV and computers defrauded mankind.
Paid for with the precious price of time,
and...... peace of mind.

By the age of six the average child
will have completed the basic American education....
From television, the child will have learned to pick a lock,
commit a fairly elaborate bank holdup, prevent wetness all
day long, get the laundry twice as white, and kill people
with a variety of sophisticated armaments.

*Restful Smiles!*

Such a great write as always. Those days to me sound so very good. The images were really vivid and put together so nicely. Great work. Chris.

Oh ConSue!

Do you know I have tears, tears, tears in my eyes. Boundless homesickness forthe days of my childhood and so warmth, itimacy, spirituality and love that cannot simply be expressed.
Our Advents, the preparation for each feast was hush, hush secrecy, anticipation, delight of glory to come. True heaven.
What is that now.
The music increases my longing for days gone by.
Magnificent ConSue, But sooooooo sadf, awakining so much homesickness, longing of paradise lost.

Be blessed ConSue for posting this uniquely beautiful work
Thank you Consue Thank you Thank you!

warm love
Elizabeth

I remember 'then' and oh dear God, do I miss it. I have regained some living out in the country, not bothered by people or irritations of city living. Peace and quiet and solitude. Only having to return to realtiy when forced to go 30 miles to the big city sprawl. Dear God, I am so blessed. My grandchildren are getting a bit of this, so maybe someday they will try to provided it to their children for they will know about it. Most don't ever remember peaceful, serene, quiet days and wonderfully dark nights with only the fireflies to light the outside. 'Then' was so wonderful. Rita
