Lighting the candles,i find myself talking silently to you again.
Your hard at work dear brother, over there every single day with the other troops.
I wonder what kind of conversations you have with God,I wonder if you wish you would have stayed home.
I try my hardest to avoid the news, not because I am nieve dear brother, but in every soilders face-I always see you.
I look on the shelve where our family pictures are kept,a single moment frozen in time- we always knew it was a chance didnt we? We knew the what but not the why, where and when.
Whoever said 3 times the charm, never knew our familys name!
Tears dance gracefully down my cheeks as I sit here and reflect.
How my heart is caught in the crossfire ,dear brother.
2 older brothers served and fought for this country already.
3 diffrent branches of military took a pledge to serve for God,Core & Country!
Finding one another 5 times across the desert and still made time for childs play!
Now its your turn to take up arms for your 2nd tour to fight for us once again.
2,000+ lives have already gone before you this time around,my heart is torn!
How can 1 little sister ever be more proud!?
Being in our military family is always a game of hury up,hurry up,train for this or that and then they make you wait.
I never followed suit,I never took the oath,I never put my life on the line day after day for most face I will never know,
I don't strap up my boots, take up arms and walk a mile in your shoes.
I dont think twice as i drive in my car and see a group of little kids and wonder if one of them are being used as a pawn in this game of war.I wonder if God crys and if his heart feels devided as mine?
I come home every day, light a candle and I talk to you with in my mind if i can not take pen to paper and write.
My heart is so full of pride and pain, wonderment and rage, sometimes the tears burn down upon my face.
My heart is caught in the crossfire, I am homesick for you dear brother. Please Come Home Safe! This, (You have both given us a great poem and a view of the heart that we don't always get to see in this kind of poetry) is a wonderful view of life in the military family. I wish you and your family hope and best wishes.

I can relate to this...I'll pray for your brothers as well...we just gotta stay strong. I can't wait til all the troops are back home safe and sound. Tanya
