Array ( [sid] => 103392 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Woodlands So Dear [time] => 2005-08-13 09:37:46 [hometext] => This is one of my first poems I wrote. It was written when me and my faimily spent the summer camping and I was sitting in front of the campfire at night [bodytext] => As I walk through the trees, look all around
I listen for noises, hear not a sound
Not the sound of a siren, a car, or a train
Not the sound of the city, crying in pain
But the peacefulness that I do hear
Is the sounds of the Woodlands, Tthe Woodlands So Dear

The sounds of the birds, when I am awake
Smell of the trees, the sight of the lake
The sun when it shines, right down through the trees
Smell of the flowers, sight of the bees
Days are so peaceful, with quite little sounds
That I sit there and listen, to my heart as it pounds

The night is so still, smell in the air
Of the fireplace burring, as I'm sitting there
The stars they all twinkle right through the trees
As I’m closing my eyes, resting with ease
The peacefulness will always be here
In The Woodlands I love, The Woodlands So Dear

One can feel the peace that this poem extrudes. I had the impression that I too was sitting by the camp fire listening to the peace and stillness only to hear the beat of my own heart, Great Poem top marks from bernard2

here I am again the nature lovin' hippie, standing up and clapping. I am a child of this beautiful earth and I am humbled by her. I love your writes. Sounds like we need to get together and chat by the fire. Much peace to you. Laura

Isn't it wonderfully devine. No outside world. We are but children of Mother Earth and that is what life should be. Some may enjoy the chaos, but I am not one of them. My heart is country, not concrete. Animals, not people. Truth not facades. Peace and serenity is what is lacking in our society and it does emotionally traumatize some. At lease some of us realize and search for life as we know it truly should be. This is a marvelous write. Rita
