Bursting at the seams, with holes in the knees
And iron on patches of peace sign memories
With a pocket full of plans that change

I have desires of differing length and inseam
With a surprising assortment of waist, or is it waste?
Loads of preshrunk ideals, mass produced in a sweat shop
Just south of a zipped up, boot cut border town

I have genuinely faded material goals
And my reinforced attention is riveted
To silver tabbed, button fly fantasies
With straight legged, hip hugging dreams

No dried up designer blue jean pool
More likely, an outlet store at a strip mall
The kind that sells imperfect irregularities
While I am casual, relaxed fit within myself

I am most comfortable when wearing

Denim

I am loving this poem. It seems to fit you to a perfect T with denims. How original and well written. You, my dear, are amazing.

Big smiles,
Rita

LOL hehe I do see you as the denim wearing type of guy. This was cool I loved “Decaffeinated” so it was a no brainer that I loved this too.

Wonderfully done as always Scott.

Woah, this was awesome!

I personally love denim too, but I really enjoyed all the metaphors, and the flow was lovely, et cetera..

A creative write indeed.
Thought-provoking! (not sure where exactly the thoughts are leading.. but methinks I'll follow.)

Naz,

This was a fun read, and cleverly done. I enjoyed the use of "Denim" as a metaphor and the puns. I also see myself as a "Denim" type of a guy.

I found myself smiling and grinning as I read this poem. The humor was great.

I LOVED these lines! Excellent and fun nazzy! What a wonderful
fascinating little wizard you are! As always, you hold your
readers captive! (Without them even knowing...)
