Array ( [sid] => 103205 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Child of the Dark No More [time] => 2005-08-10 21:34:58 [hometext] => This is the final poem in the Child of the Dark series. Please read the first three to get the full effect of this one!!! [bodytext] => The silver current tickles my ears
I have become everything I ever feared
The demons gurgle and I glare
Oh how my heart laughed at their frightened stares

Suddenly I feel a new presence here
Something in the back of my mind that I had once held dear
I fly over the scene
Broken bodies and houses stripped clean

Then I see him lying in the gutter
I suddenly feel my heart shudder
I glide down towards him feeling a familiar glow
I touch his hand and instantly I know

He opens his eyes and looks at me
'I’m sorry baby, I’m sorry I couldn’t set you free'
I put a claw to his lips, careful not to cut them
'You don’t have to be sorry, my soul was already condemned'
'Look around you, surely all this is beyond the ability to mend'

That’s when he smiles and my heart flutters a few beats
He grabbed my fur covered arm and drew me close for our lips to meet
'Don’t kiss me, I’m a monster now, can’t you see?'
He shakes his head and pets my onyx hair, 'All I see is my sweet little lost kitty'

My lips touch his and everything is right
The sun comes out and day chases away the night
The fur is gone and the wings melt away
My hair turns golden again like shining sun rays

Yet again I feel the invisible thread
And yet this time I knew where I was being led
'Good bye my brave warrior, someday we’ll meet again'
'Someday soon in the Lord’s kingdom of heaven'
