Will the Angels sing as sweet
As the ones who hover closely
'Round the blessed Saviors feet?
Will the streets be just as golden?
Will the living waters flow?
On the other side of heaven
Guess it's not for me to know

If I make it there to heaven
Sure, will be by skin of teeth
I don't think there'll be a party
Nor a" welcome home child" wreath
And my house won't be a mansion
Tucked beside those pearly gates
On the other side of heaven
I just wonder what awaits

Should I miss the boat to heaven
Time and time alone will tell
Should I stand there looking outward
From those fiery lakes of Hell
I'll not care about the stature
Of how close to God I'd be
For the other side heaven
Would have looked damn good to me

Well, everyday is a clean slate, if you straighten up now you just might make it, lol. Joking, I hope you know. Larry, this is a great poem. Many need to read this and truly think about it before going for a dip in the River Styx.

Rose petals falling all around you!

I'm sure you'll be okay.. ya know why? because you don't say.." so and so should read and apply this .. You apply it to you and you alone .. You aren't a hypocrite .. I won't borrow your roses and fling them back at you .. Something original would be nice; but I haven't anything .. so I will just say .. this was another great write .. and I look forward to more ...
your friend, I hope because that would be nice ..

why are your reads down? maybe you need to come over to Allpoetry .. the reads and comments there are really good and we could use a poet of your calibre .. they don't seem to want you here any more .. (hehe) or is someone mad ... this is a brilliant poem ...

anyway, if your reads and comments don't change .. come over there .. it's like paradise .. I'll save the name roseman for you .. I checked .. it's not taken. lol

Nicely done poem Larry although I think you
will go to Heaven since God is a forgiving
god and if you are banished to hell then I hate
to see what will await me. Good poem
though I liked the imagery, but you shouldn't
be so hard on yourself.

This was cute and...

I bet I make it by the skin of my teeth as well. I'm mischevious and curious and that can't make for good heaven material.

I need to polish up!

Loved the poem L.
