Bury my dreams along with my hopes.
Free my body from all of the ropes.
They cut so tight and hold me close
to the edge of my world I keep inside.
I escaped right out of my hopeless mind
when I did what I did, and I heard a cry
from the heartbroken soul who watched me die.
You are but a stranger in my eyes;
a thoughtless roadblock when I was alive,
to a life going nowhere; no end to the line.
You wonder why I had to die.
Why did I do it? Because I can.
I should have been scared of the terror and ran,
but instead the terror was me, by my hand
I took my own life, it was part of the plan.
I want you to love me, as no one else does.
What I thought I had just never was.
No one was there when I needed a hug,
but now that I'm dead I'm receiving the love.
Throw the flowers into the hole
that was dug for my grave and my casket of gold.
There I sleep and my body is cold.
In my hand was placed a stuffed bear to hold.
I hope that you miss me, I hope that you learn
that someday everyone takes their turn.
Now the sun never shines and you want me back.
But the sky turned a permanent shade of black. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 259 [topic] => 36 [informant] => AnaBanana [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Suicide )
A Life Has Died

Topic: Suicide

Slit my throat and watch me choke.
Bury my dreams along with my hopes.
Free my body from all of the ropes.
They cut so tight and hold me close
to the edge of my world I keep inside.
I escaped right out of my hopeless mind
when I did what I did, and I heard a cry
from the heartbroken soul who watched me die.
You are but a stranger in my eyes;
a thoughtless roadblock when I was alive,
to a life going nowhere; no end to the line.
But the sky turned a permanent shade of black.

Dark...very dark. This is the first poem of yours that I have read...and I'm sorry for your pain. It comes through in your words...and you have conveyed the image of forlorn love...begging to be noticed... Not a nice poem...but one to be respected...Eric
