Please have patience as I attempt to regain my prior status on posting, and commenting. Below is my own humorous assessment regarding situations such as the one I am now living through. The lengthening shadows are claiming their place.
Extending their reach at, a now, faster pace.
Retention of memory is doomed to defeat.
From this darkest of stupor there is no retreat.
My mind follows blindly its somber decline
until, without light or memory, the darkness be mine!
Too old to determine the right age to resist,
too young to look back at what I may have missed,
too tired to give more of what I’ve already given;
but still, I’m not ready to give up on living.
The ominous shadows must return to their place,
‘cause I’m not ready yet to drop out of the race.
My mind has its problems, and my health’s not that great;
in fact, my whole being is in a hell of a state,
yet, one little thought keeps popping up in my head . . .
HOW in the hell would I be better off DEAD?

The lengthening shadows are claiming their place.
Extending their reach at, a now, faster pace.

What a beautiful song. amd hymn to life.
You will never walk in darkness dear John. Forgetfulness comes to most of us - sometimes even at the most inconvenient moment :)) :)) - as a matter of fact, it picks the most inconvenient moment in tiome :)
There is no re ason at all to through the towel in
Exquisitely penned John. Let the light shine.
Know the little song:
"My little light - let it shine! shine! shine!"

We played it on the guitar. This beautiful poem awakens the memory of delightful events and moment experienced.

Excellent piece John! You're every bit the wonderful poet I recall : )
I love this life tale, done with humour, but a sting of reality too...Well worded with good rhyming and flow.
