if ya feel the need for a wild ride
yes, come now, don't be shy
never know what you might find there
I know it's enough to cause me fear
fear to look deeper
need a shamans guiding hand
to enter this lost land
little ayahausca, maybe
turn me back to a newborn baby
relive the past
find the cure
at last...

What's to be found there....hidden?
secret notes
laughter
screams
sealed boxes
unfulfilled dreams
huge padlock to secure
haunting memories
I can't endure
so...beware
you'll want to side step those
easy now, go careful
watch your toes

Try to pick at it....my mind
sort it out, man
What's in there eating at me
causing the intense chemical flow
raging
churning
getting older seems to
intensify its growth
I can see why some go crazy
hell, I've already been
so many times
the path is worn
dragging my tail
way too often

We all have similar monkeys, man
hanging on our backs
waiting...slapping angels
not cutting no one no slack
mysteries of the mind
no man can really solve
text book case, they tell me
write your notes
prescribe your drugs
praise them for setting us free
now who's crazy?
that's right
that's me

That ending is so in-your-face, and I love it. It's works perfectly for the write. Good expression in this piece, with some really good lines.
(Besides the whole last stanza!)

"Huge padlock to secure
haunting memories
I can't endure
so...beware
you'll want to side step those"

An emotive write Laura...I hope things start to look up for you : )

Scorp.

Who, Laura, is to say what is crazy and what is normal? Many people who think outside the box are termed crazy, but that is not necessarily so. Each persons brain is wired differently but if we don/t fit into the perfect little square box societty wants us too then they lay a term on us, causing fear, hurt and pain. Sad, we let them box us in. Don't woryy, just be your loving self and care for those that care for you. JMO Rita
