Array ( [sid] => 102886 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Schizophrenic [time] => 2005-08-07 06:53:13 [hometext] => just read a book about a schizophrenic boy, it really opened my eyes quite a bit [bodytext] => Voices,
Cloud my thoughts, cloud my mind,
Truth and lies, I no longer define,
So where to look,
And where to run,
Cover your ears and hide your eyes,
For it would be better to be blind,
Better to be blind,
You don't want to see a troubled man

Turn away,
Cross the road,
Hold your children close,
Nobody wants to know a madman,

So walk on by,
I don't exist,
Just one man, there's nothing missed,
Everyone looks, but nobody sees,
Another psychotic on hands and knees,
Praying to see the fading light

'Poor fellow, he seems alone',
Sighs a kindly man,
But you don't understand, good sir,
For I shall never be alone,
Voices stalk my every move,
Voices tell me what I'm worth,
Voices tell me how to live,
Voices I alone can hear,
Voices

Surrounding me now,
Closing me in,
Coming nearer still,
Give in to the voices I will-
But then a sound of beauty rings,
It shuts me up and draws me in,
Never have I heard a voice like this,
She tells me of a path to bliss,

It tempts me,
Lures me in,
Jolts my heart to a racing beat,
A melody for the weak she sings,
She tells me of a perfect place,
No more voices, and no disgrace,
So straight away I take her hand

But then the woman fades to dust,
The devil's face is taking over,
Fires of hate are burning bright,
They've cornered me now,
There's nowhere to run,
Tried to follow an angel,
But to hell I was led,
All this happened inside my head

But don't you worry,
Don't you cry,
I'm just another one, passing you by
A schizophrenic

That was an amazing write. I must say though that 40-42% of patients recover. You're not usually born schizophrenic, althought it could be inherited.
My fiance is a schizophrenic...

Aside from all that, it was a fantastic write, well done. Amazing how a few words in a book could inspire such powerful poetry! I could totally feel the walls closing in, in the mind... Being controlled by voices, seen it all and now really felt. Great write, no words could describe!! Honestly, it's perfect!! 5 stars! Job well done, keep that ink flowing!

Cheers,
-xXRayeXx

My brother-in-law was born schizoid .. it wasn't drug induced with him .. purely genetic .. one of him thinks he did a tour in Nam .. which he never did .. it's amazing .. not the same as bi-polar .. which some think.. and he's a genius.. but because of the breaks he can't really function ... and paranoia comes with it .. almost like the man with the beautiful mind... and he was born that way.. it is genetic ..

I am schizophrenic. I've written a poem about it and put it on this site. It is titled mentally ill.
