The untrue shades and hues have hardened your silken petals
Wilting you, drying, tearing, killing you.

Painted rose scratch away that which covers the petals and sharpens those thorns...
Those colors will never become you
Or show your glorious beauty
That of a brilliant, sensitive flora.

Painted rose blackened now
Love, please bear your soul
Return from darkness to life-giving light
Until your petals are washed in bloody crimson
Your petals will never be pure white. [comments] => 16 [counter] => 350 [topic] => 73 [informant] => faith_my_eyes [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 59 [ratings] => 12 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => abstract )

really deep; at least for me .. sounds like it's about repentance .. and being washed in the blood of Christ ..
or am I totally off...?

Beautiful write, with a meaningful message. It appears to be a wonderful metaphor for expressing love openly, and not hiding our true beauty. Anyway that was my take on it.

An impressive write

Will

Sacred write.. Its beautiful.. It is a masterpiece

One gorgeous poem..

*****Until your petals are washed in bloody crimson
Your petals will never be pure white.

Brought peaceful tears to my eyes.. just knowing the beautiful painted rose is alive... and as pure as a white lily..
