While aging shadows creep within
Sing ye not, the dirges, sad
As life for thee can still be had

For from the dusty rooms of past
Where cold winds blow and fires blast
Bring the heart back to the soul
From whence the body lost control

Fix the eye’s determined stare
Upon the lady, soft and fair
Offer up what’s now been found
Lay thy love onto the ground

Take a bold and daring stance
And dance with her a loving dance
That she will ne’er recover soon
For it will make her poor heart swoon

And she will e’er be in thy spell
Until the tolling of the bell
That brings thee back to God’s embrace
And lights a candle in the place

A place of honor in her heart
A place where thee will ne’er depart
Thy love for her will always be
The fondest of her memory

So ponder not what might have been
Look ahead without chagrin
Sing ye not, the dirges, sad
As life for thee can still be had.

Wow, a very strong, beautifully romatic poem, I absolutely loved it, I loved all of the words you chose in this poem, a very good write, it reminded me of Romeo and Juliet to tell you the truth, lol, a very good write. SLipSiX.

This is a bit confusing. But after i looked up "dirges" made a little more sence...Remember if you want more comments you gotta comment on others as well.

Ooh. I liked this very much, and your command of meter was a very nice, refreshing change from many. Nicely done, nicely done.^^

impressed,
Nora
