This Thing called Depression

Contributed by monkeybones99 on Wednesday, 3rd August 2005 @ 06:19:57 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

There is this feeling that comes and goes
Sometimes it slowly rolls and other times it quickly flows.
At times I can hold it back
Sometimes the strength I lack.

It brings anger, sadness, and tears
It has been going on for years and years.
Things can be going great
Then comes this feeling and doom is my fate.

Makes you cry and wish to die
Crawl in a hole and say goodbye.
It takes control and won't let go
Makes everything dark, makes you feel low.

You fight and fight and try to get up again
You think you've done it , you almost have it, and then.
It knocks you back to your knees
You beg for it to go away, you beg please!

You go through life and you put on a mask
Go day to day trying to fullfil the task.
The task to make others think you are sane
So that way they will never see your pain.

This thing that makes life seem impossible
This thing that sometimes leaves you immobile.
The thing is called depression
However, it can be overcome, so don't let it be your oppression.

quit giving a crap of what others think,it feels so much better,be happy with yourself and show it and no one can screw with you unless you let there opinion hurt you, there not worth it at all,no one is worth torturing yourself over, let your feelings show no matter what they are ,just quit caring what people will think ,i did and it feels so good when they know they cant get to me that im too strong:)

Very powerful write. It speaks to so many people.Even me
We struggle so much in life, but if we just take a step back and see, We control our lives it is up to us to try even if it takes a life time. challenges are our biggest accomplishments and depression falls safely in that catagory! fight through it. Your words are strong so must you be
