Forever etched in the dark pallid light
A starry night sky is delivered to life
With strokes of hoary grace; Vincent creates
A corporeal birth on a visceral plate

Remembrance tattooed in a heart
Hope dilutes… a bruise departs
Love filters through a smouldered star

The paintings nurse was born in arid Amsterdam’s breeze
Shiny stars flirt with him and bind his dreams
Vincent’s life is so precious yet so stained
Burnt in sunshine… then soaked in rain

So let thy dreams be thy runway hub
As he paints a vessel to ten thousand eyes above
Isn’t it strange?
How heaven seems to be a hairs width away?

He looks up high…
Whilst painting the armada of a sky
Heavens’ hair brushes against his side
A man is a burning star forever vanishing in time
A majestic sea that will one day burst its tide
And as he merges upward toward the starry night sky
He is as white as the stars, as he begins his closing climb
No more water left… so please let this flower die
Dear Vincent I bid you goodnight…

I have written two poems on Mr Van Gogh. He seems to interest my poetic thought process.

The first poem i wrote about him is called Picture Frame http://www.your-poetry.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=50120 it is based around his picture 'side walk cafe' - it looks at why there is no one in the frame but yet all in his life is in the frame.

Thje second poem- starry night sky looks at Vincents death whilst focusing on his work entitled 'The Starry Night, 1889' this poem brings an end to my poetry on Vincent. I hope you read your own meanings from it.

Huge props for this very befitting tribute to the one and only van Gogh...This is a remarkable piece of poetry, so very well worded, and the imagery it projects is just splendid!!! I must say, that is one of my favourite paintings of his, so this write drew me in right away...Lovely style you wrote this in,
and I am envious of your expression: )
The whole poem was fantastic, but the second stanza was my fave...Very well done!!!

Scorp.
(Thank you for commenting on my write earlier too, by the way..)

This whole presentation, the write and the visual of the painting was done to a perfection. I especially enjoyed how you personalized the poem by including its creator in the tale you told so eloquently. Look forward to more like these. A true work of art.

There is very little that I can say that hasn't been said before by the others, except for WOW. you need to be in another site, it is a workshop where the mentors really teach you to write, and I don't see you needing much, if you want to know more then respond to this and I will let you know that the site is.
Tammi
Keep on writing

This piece of work is just almost ethereal. I am very impressed with this one. Your imagery, your structure, your old master-like quality is brilliant.

Ido have one piece I would love for you to read called URGENT, DONATIONS NEEDED. I would really appreciate if you would reciprocate on that posting. Rita

Beautiful title... Overstated...

You have great shape and form merged here.

This write is very intense. Very explosive, very subjective dance with your pen strokes here.

Your use of imagery is very effective

Great opening lines:

*****Forever etched in the dark pallid light
A starry night sky is delivered to life

Very effective closure

*****No more water left… so please let this flower die
Dear Vincent I bid you goodnight…

Beautifully written, thank you for your art piece here.

If I'd the chance to speak to Him..
this is what I wouldv'e said..your words..

The image above the write, is obviously a work of brilliance..
and the words, the same.
This was a great and nobel write in ode
to a Master, who pioneered and blazed
the proverbial trail for the rest of us.

Art is, after all...the expression of self.
I don't throw the word "materpiece"
around at all....EVER- lol

but this was..that.

Excellent..a measterpiece-

SINCERELY Yours,

Billy

I have not read much of your work as of yet, but this is excellent. As a lover of both poetry and art, I enjoyed it very much. "No more water left" - give me the thought that when you take the water out, all that is left in us is a little dust - and spirit. Vincent's spirit still lives in his work, which is why people still love it. Great poem!
Blessings, J.
