with my demons and dirt
will free me from home
for whatever it's worth

Skulls and my hate
flash through her face
i'm afraid of my fate
that i won't have a place

In the world.. in this garden
In the rain.. in this tear
I'm a bird in the burden of words...
________________

In time, i'll drop the leaves that i carry
and wander from God and the wait
i'll find heart shaped stones to bury
'cause to life i can never relate

she said she's just waiting to live
so i paused to describe how i'm dying
i wonder if i could ever really give
my life, my love and my trying
________________

In the memory.. in this moment
In the poem... in this cage
I'm a bird in the burden of words.

A beautiful poem, which seems to relate to one's worthyness or adequacy. Seems to deal with guilt or self doubt with some trouble relating to it all. Vulnerability. Perhaps trapped by the limitations of language to express myself?

Well done

Will

This is a wonderful write Dwayne...You may be struggling at the moment, but surely you will come out on top. The format and your words suit this emotive piece...Well done. This had a strong beginning and ending.
