Setting fire to the timbers of the world
The heralding of new ideas unfold
Unexpected to find
that the design will murder a gilded son

In the stream that is our time, we seek the one
that will return our soul
Oh how we long for the sweet embrace of justice to make us all equal
You see? The fire now grows
Smoke of hate is carried on the wind
Into the lungs and throughout the veins
The infection now grows

Zealots conspire and renew old demons
You are responsible for the pain a thousand miles away
Let them partake of your wealth by setting upon reciprocity
But that is never enough

Eating so well while others do not is blasphemy
Contemptuous vagrants ascend
Hierarchy tainted by covetousness
A new tariff on each born soul

Strain overwhelms the ones of burden
Insurrection looms
Mutiny festering
Bloodshed assured

Trumpets of war heard in the valley,
atop the peaks and to the great sea
The suffering of manmade lightning strikes
Righteousness fades into a waning light

Scorched earth reveals an axiom of mankind
The scales of rectitude will never be balanced
Moving one stone pillar
to compensate for another
will cause a castle to crumble

Forcefully and eloquently spoken. I like the intelligence and poeticism of the imagery. Well done!
