Excellent Billy. I have always wondered why and how could we possibly think we are the only species on earth. Maybe another world is visualizing the same things we are. Wondering and exploring hoping to find others out there. My definition of a shooting star is a soul returning to earth. Maybe it is not our world it is always returning too?

Ooooh! I like this!!

I especially love the ending.

Who know's? I believe it, I mean come on, the universe is huge and ours is the only inhabited planet? That's just silly.

Heh.

I do really love this though.

Great work,
Phil xxx

Interesting htought and sight it evokes. To us our world is everything, but
to someone far away, gazing up into the sky, we'd mearly be a light that fades
as they make a wish. Poignant thought provoking idea.

Oh this poem brings to my mind such beautiful fond memories..

In the old days lol.. there was such a thing as a Drive In Theatre...

I sitting in the back seat in a green Century Buick next to my two brothers. I was just a tiny little thing...

My little sister got to sit front seat to watch the movie.. on my mothers lap.

Well... I was so small, I really could not see the big screen outside the front car window..

Oh yes, I could hear the old heavy speaker's sound next to my ears, the window part way down, where it was held to rest.

So, since I couldnt see the movie, only hear it, I watched shooting stars....

My brothers kept telling me to be quiet, they can't hear the movie. But, yes.. I loved to see those shooting stars come falling out of the dark sky.

Your poem here makes me appreciate those falling stars more now.. and also appreciate our earth.. Who knows, yes.. we could be a falling star one day ourself.

Oh my.. I can see our earth falling...

I feel like I am on the outside looking in now..

Awesome write Billy..

Tears flow here... so beautiful, so touching..

***** a child may watch us and exclaim:
"See the pretty shooting star!"

Sweets .. what an intriguing and contemplative thought-

I adore the men and mice reference-

I've often wondered what was going on, on those distant stars
upon the moment they burn out .. we always view it as so
beautiful in our sky .. but who would ever think it could be
so monumentally sad to someone else perhaps?

Our life here .. is still .. and remains always .. unwritten .. : )

magnificent in all it's provocation, hun ~
